Job Description Our Bookkeepers are the the foundation of our Firm. They are in charge of the data entry and reconciliation of the bank transactions for our monthly bookkeeping clients. A successful bookkeeper has excellent time management and accuracy in their entries. Basic Accounting knowledge needed. Job Summary Maintains the financial records for monthly bookkeeping clients Submits Sales Tax Reports Assist in the overall goal of the firm General Accountabilities Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes using professional judgement Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers Classifies, records, and summarizes loan balances, assets and liabilities, debits, credits, and totals accounts Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations Compiles and prepares statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables of cash receipts, expenditures, and profits and losses Reconciles bank accounts, credit cards and reports discrepancies found in records Prepares and files Monthly and Quarterly Sales Tax Verifies payroll liabilities and reports discrepancies Maintains subcontractors records (W-9 forms, Workers Compensation exemption or insurance certificate, General Liability exemption and insurance certificate) Preparation of 1099 forms Corporate and Individual Tax entry for the assigned clients Assist as needed in the preparation of tangible taxes Prepare tax liability analysis Takes Ownership of assigned responsibilities The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time Job Qualifications Education: Associates degree Experience: 6 months; or equivalent of education and experience Basic Knowledge of individual, corporate, partnership, nonprofit and tangible tax returns Basic Knowledge of payroll preparation and payroll quarterly and annual return preparation. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish General bookkeeping knowledge Math and reasoning Accuracy Attention to detail Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills Time management Multi-tasking under pressure Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
