The HR Generalist performs professional level human resources functions and carries out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as, staffing/recruitment, employee relations, compensation, training, leaves, benefits and payroll.  The HR Generalist will play a critical role in ensuring the Company is utilizing HR technology efficiently and effectively.

  1. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  2. Performs reference and background checks
  3. Manages the temporary staffing process including establishing new service, monitoring required checks, verifying timecards, verifying and processing invoices
  4. Performs at an expert level user of HR technologies – ATS, payroll, timekeeping system
  5. Coordinates new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  6. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development
  7. Administer the leave of absence programs including FMLA
  8. Assist with compensation and benefits program as well as payroll back-up
  9. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  10. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  11. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  12. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  13. Other duties as assigned


A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in an HR Generalist role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement


Experience & Skills

  • At least three years of HR Generalist experience preferred
  • SHRM certification a plus
  • Through knowledge of employment laws and regulations, multi-state experience is beneficial
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
  • Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
