We are passionate about hiring the very best talent and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.Position PurposeUnder general supervision, perform the duties necessary to accurately close first mortgage loans. Determine and evaluate documentation needed to comply with underwriting, PMI, secondary marketing and government agency guidelines. Prepare all final loan documents for closing of the loan. Ensure all loans are closed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide guidance to branch personnel regarding closing requirements. Provide support of sales and service efforts designed to retain existing relationships and enable growth of new relationships. Ensure sustained profitable growth through support of the institutions deposit, loan and fee income goals. Essential Functions:Coordinate and perform the daily activities of closing mortgage loan applications, including government program loans. Ensure accurate and complete loan documentation, including, but not limited to the following:Ensure appropriate closing disclosures and/or documents are sent in accordance with regulatory requirements.Assure items are returned in a timely manner.Compare documents received for accuracy and review discrepancies with underwriter, if needed.Secure all required documentation in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations (e.g. RESPA, Reg Z, TRIID, CIP, OFAC, Reg B, etc.)Resolve commitment conditions to ensure timely and accurate closing of loans.Coordinate closing date with borrower, originator and/or title company.Generate closing documents. Receive and verify closing documents for accuracy and completeness. Perform final quality review to ensure all tasks, conditions and required information has been completed, obtained and addressed.Document information as required in First Federals loan origination system (LOS). Organize documents in compliance with file structure standards. Maintain loan tracking system information including expected funding dates.Calculate final payoffs and closing figures. Prepare journal voucher for loan disbursement and proceeds.Identify risk of lock expiration based on remaining loan completion time. If file is deemed saleable, ensure documentation allows file status to remain saleable.Provide coaching and guidance to branch personnel as needed.Participate in the development of service standards.Support the sales and service efforts designed to retain and grow relationships by working collaboratively with both internal partners and borrowers.Work with team members to support of the institutions deposit, loan and fee income goals.Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations and other federal and state regulations pertinent to this position.Complete annual BSA/Compliance training in a timely manner in accordance with BSA and other compliance-related regulations, as well as First Federals internal policies and procedures.Maintain a sound knowledge of Association policies, procedures, documentation and compliance needs in order to effectively exercise assigned responsibilities.Maintain regular and predictable attendance.Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: High school diploma or certified equivalent. Associates degree or some college courses preferred.Typically requires two (2) years mortgage loan processing/closing experience including a demonstrated record of effective communications and interface with customers, realtors, brokers, appraisers, title companies and other vendors.Working knowledge of regulations, real estate, title terminology, loan documentation and vendor needs, such as title companies and closing agents.Strong detail orientation and above average mathematical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to allow effective communication.Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work productively with and contribute to the effectiveness of the organization.Outstanding customer service skills to meet the needs of internal and external customers.Ability to meet established goals through effective organizational and time management skills that allow handling of multiple transactions with competing priorities throughout the workday. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of First Federal policies, procedures, products, documentation and compliance requirements, and systems.Personal computers and standard software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Word & Excel. Physical Requirements: The work requires the ability to operate office machines and equipment, such as personal computers, printers, copying machines and telephones. The work requires the ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and others in person and on telephones.
